In the early 90s I bought my first forklift in Denver from a guy named Byron Weiss in Denver. Byron ran a used junk kinda yard. We became friends over the years and for a while his kid worked for me. Once when he had converted a decrepit warehouse he owned to first class condos I brought my lady friend Paula cook down from Evergreen to meet him and get the listings...They were surprised to recognize each other as child hood friends and kibitzed for a while.. Paula reminded him the kids called him whizzy (Byron was smart and she asked Hows Chucky so I thought. Byrons answer was; never the same since Ricki dumped him with a laugh. 2 years later I went to the Brown Palace for Thanksgiving burgers and beer with my lovely friend Barbara...See Ive always stood against tradition. Byrons full family was dining and he invited us to join them and thats when I relived Chuck E Weiss is someone Ive followed along with Tom Waites all my bizarre musical history gathering life. Hence the Ricki Lee Jones Song Chuck Es in Love.... Please catch the reference to Whizzy at the end...Barbara Wagner and I had a full afternoon of fun and laughter.
