Form what we know of him he was intelligent, cable of leading the state in war and had metis. His tragedy, like most people like him, was that his soul was broken. Had he been able to see this himself and fix, “know what he didnt know”, it would imply that his soul was immortal and the seat of all knowledge (according to Plato’s theory of knowledge).
