https://youtube/watch?v=eZCPiyrNFdc 1960 and 1961 were the years of apocalypse in Japan. Many people know of the colorful, lavish, and downright depressing nuclear war film THE LAST WAR directed by less known Shuei Matsubayashi and special effects master Eiji Tsuburaya made in 1961. However in 1960, TOEI made a nuclear war film called THE FINAL WAR. Though I have not seen it, Ive been doing a lot of research on it, and I can say that all evidence points to it being the superior film. Though it relies more on actual stock footage instead of miniatures, one thing is for sure. THE FINAL WAR is much more personal in its human story, and is more realistic (depicting both the US & USSR instead of the generic Alliance and Empire that they used in THE LAST WAR). I dont know... its hard to say since I have not seen it. But, if this clip is proof of anything, Id say it is better... any thoughts?
