And it was our FIRST chase day, I flew into NYC only 3 days earlier, and into Wichita just 2 days earlier, and rented a new Tahoe ( which I ended up keeping for 6 weeks, man I loved that car ! ) , and joined Gene only one day earlier in OKC... and bought me a new EOS T5i ( 700D ) that same day in OKC , then we drove to Dodge City, and on May 18 we first started with the other storm further north, it looked promising but we left it when we saw that it went outflow dominant and so we blasted south ( to where Genes original target was ) and we arrived near Rozel just about 10 minutes before we saw that lowering... and it looked weird because from our location there we saw no real wallcloud, it was just a rotating area back there directly at the storms base, rotation that gradually came lower and lower, directly as a funnel and all the way to tornado ... it was awesome.
