When she came back 30 mins later the song was done. When she asked him how he did it Merle said that it felt like someone was moving his hand and the words came from nowhere; he said some of his best songs have happened like that 2) Bonnie made a small suggestion that you cant now imagine the song not having: Merle wrote it I started loving you again today; she suggested moving TODAY to the 1st word...small but huge 3) If u listen to a lot of his songs from the beginning thru the mid 70s an ingredient that gives his sound its uniqueness is the harmony vocals of wife Bonnie, and the way ( like in this song) she doesnt sing every word of a chorus or verse with Merle. She dips and dodges in & out behind him, like in this, she just sings the 1st 3 words of the 1st and 3rd line instead of matching him word for word. I nice counterpoint that draws ur ear to the song.
