https://youtube/watch?v=mUgStJfekJc I just discovered this Cymple Man of Psycho Billy Cadillac track.. a lotta yall kno i was lucky enough to be an intern for the Beastie Boys and got time w YAUCH who was one of the nicest and gentlest people I even met. I love to tell the story of the time the boys shared a small stage w Tibetan monks.. and adam came out and carried their gear into the venue.. it was a tiny small per album invite only show.. and he refused to let the monks carry anything in.. but also did not let the roadies do it too. He had respect for the monks and for all people.. That was the first day I ever had a conversation w YAUCH and I just really saw the light when he spoke.. He was just so cool.. and it was a huge loss.. and this is a AMAZING TRIBUTE to one of the pioneers and legends of HIP HOP!!!! and like cymple man says here.. I too saw the possibilities of being a rapper when I saw what these guys could do.. at the end of the career touring.. I still saw the boys fill arenas.. I still saw them fill festivals (like VIRGIN 2007, a major stand out show..) I have to say I just discovered this track.. and I feel like YAUCH would have really dug this.. he was really a guy i looked up to.. and aspired to be.. I feel like all rap groups (not just white ones).. owe the beastie boys for paving the way.. making hip hop not just a secret music in the underground.. but one of the BIGGEST GENRES of music on planet earth today.. I will forever miss ADAM w the whole world.. and to the kids born a few years ago.. in w world where yauch never was alive.. I think his music will still hit you.. the boys made albums (pauls, check your head, ect...) that are like beatles records.. like led zeppelin (not just cuz they sampled them).. lol.. They made classics.. They played jazz, punk, metal, and never let themselves be pigeonholed into a category.. They wont a grammy for jazz album of the year (they had 2 jazz albums, mix up and insound from the way out) and yauch was a director, actor, created Oscilloscope Laboratories making movies, he was a human rights activist, husband and father.. he was the father of white boy and b-boy hip hop and it all began w a punk rock band called the BEASTIE BOYS!!! (and a prank phone call to carvel) I studied this mans past.. and one day he will be studied like MLK, COLUMBUS, WASHINGTON, PARKS, and all the greats in history.. Yauch made a difference and really made an i,pact on me.. I was think if not for Adam Yauch there would be no Smoke OUT Kings or Soopa Groop or even Couch.. I owe my whole speil to YAUCH, DIAMOND and HOROWITZ, yauch died in 2012.. after getting inducted into the hall of fame.. and he lives on forever in the music of the BEASTIE BOYS and his vast body of work!!! RIP NETHANIEL HORNBLOWER.. you were my hero.. and this tribute is quite fitting for a god of rap. thanks for making this man!!! it is really cool.. I kno he would be touched..
