I feel deeply moved by the devotion of this species to our causes and role they have played over centuries in providing humans with a means of transport and thus survival. In many cases being stripped of nourishment, and asked to perform way beyond what is physically safe for them. This feels like a sweet charity paying attention to these easily exploited creatures, left to perish at the hand of poverty and ignorance. This charity seems to be sowing the seed of co-operation and support that will create a more sustainable and peaceful future for animal and owner.
