Who can forget Gary walking onto the basketball court proclaiming he was going to Take the Purple to Pasadena in the Winter if 91...closing in on 24 years ago. We drank the Kool-Aid and a mere 5 years later...60K plus of us crazy disciples looked in shear amazement at the Sea of Purple on that beautiful day... 1/1/96. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of that amazing season. The memories are still fresh. I just wanted to take this moment to thank Gary Barnett...the architect of one of the great sports turnaround stories ever. Yesterday reminded me of all the great times shared and how college football has this unique way of bringing people together. It may just be time to become a season ticket holder again. I sincerely hope the Administration makes an effort to bring Gary back as an ambassador. I also think his true calling is still ahead of him...turning around losing organizations. Kellogg...hello?
