https://youtube/watch?v=udAL48P5NJU A single section of our intergalactic neighbor, the Andromeda Galaxy, showing just a fraction of the estimated 1 Trillion stars that reside there. Andromeda is but one example of the hundreds of billions of galaxies (that we currently know of) in our observable universe. Though Andromeda is nearly double the size of our own Milky Way Galaxy, it is dwarfed when compared to some of the truly gigantic galaxies like IC 1101, which was recently crowned the largest known elliptical galaxy with a diameter of 6-million light-years and a mass of about 100-trillion stars. It is nearly 50x the size of our very own Milky Way galaxy and 2000x as massive.
