Good Friday Afternoon....The NLPD hopes your weekend is off to a good start. Police Logs: September 25, 2013 1530: Complainant reports losing her keys at a West Main Street business. The 3 keys were on a ring with an orange tag and the name "Shultz" on it. 1738: Complainant on First Street reports accidentally running over a natural gas marker with his lawn mower. Columbia gas notified and advised as long as no odor of gas is present it is not considered critical. Report filed. 1849: Complainant reports a habitually barking dog in the area of Prospect Street. Officer checked the area for several minutes but was unable to locate any barking dog. 1945: Complainant on Townline Rd. 187 reports a suspicious male dressed in black clothing walking in a westbound direction. Officers checked the area but was unable to locate the subject. 2121: Complainant reports 2 or 3 suspicious males attempting to clime over a privacy fence on Clifton Street. Officer checked the residence and surrounding area but was unable to locate the males. No signs of entry was observed at the residence. Special attention was given to the area. 2203: Officer assisted Firelands Ambulance Service on West Main Street with a male who had fallen and injured himself. Subject transported to the hospital for treatment. September 26, 2013 0527: Officer assisted Firelands Ambulance Service on Walnut Street with a subject experiencing difficulty breathing. Subject transported to the hospital for treatment. 1120: Complainant from a Village business reports a returned check for non sufficient funds. Information and report filed and sent to the Prosecutor for review and charges. 1304: Complainant from the school reports a student being assaulted by another student. Officer arrested a juvenile female and transported her to the NLPD. Report filed and sent to the Juvenile Prosecutor, charges pending.Juvenile was released to her mother. 1653: Officer initiated a traffic stop on South Main Street for a loud exhaust. Subject issued a citation and released w/o incident. 1848: Complainant reports a female sitting on the sidewalk on Railroad Street. Officer spoke to the female who stated she was just released from the hospital and stopped to see if her children were there. She was transported to her residence where she was reunited with her family. 2124: Complainant on Third Street reports her son bitten by a neighbors dog. Report and photos taken. The dogs owner cited for dog at large. The NLPD reports another scam from a male stating he was from "Windows" and needed personal information from a Village resident. Unfortunately the resident gave him banking information over the phone where the male then withdrew $150.00 from her account. Not only did he comprise her account but now has her personal information. Please remember that no one from Microsoft or Microsoft Windows would contact you for any information. In fact "lets error on the side of caution".......NEVER give any personal information over the phone or Internet unless you initiate the call and you know the person you are speaking to. When in doubt just hang up or delete the e-mail before opening it. And please contact the Police Dept. so we can forward this information to the Attorney Generals Office.
