He was arrested without being informed of the reason for his arrest and he learned it only after he was brought to the police station by listening to the conversation of the police officers who tortured him. He identified the officers who were responsible for his ordeal as Police Constable Silva (PC 53241), Sub Inspector (SI) Prasanna Mendis (who is Officer-in-Charge of the Crime Branch) and Inspector of Police (IP) Lal Chandrasiri, among others.
