humans have the unique ability to think themselves at other peoples places,to learn and understand new things they havent actually experienced and yet many choose to remain comfortably within the bounds of their own experience never troubling to wonder how would it feel to have been born other than they are,they can refuse to hear screams or to pierce cages,they can close their minds and hearts to any sufferings dat doesnt touch them personally.they can refuse to know, i might be tempted to envy people who live that way except that i do not think that they have any fewer night mares than i do,i think the willfully unimaginative see more monsters,theyre more afraid
