i am a very compassionate person. but never mistake that for meaning im stupid. when someone who does not know me asks for money it sends a red flag. im not saying its wrong to help someone, but make sure you know that person well enough to be comfortable they are telling the truth. also never accept money if they offer it. all they need is your bank details to wipe you completely out. another thing if they send you money in another currency turn it over to the police right away. this is something i have personal experience in. i took it to the bank asked to talk to someone, explained what happened and my concern it didnt seem right. well turns out i was right. i cant remember how but a scammer can get bank details if you convert money they send in their currency to yours. then i took it to the police. be careful about who you send money too. its better to direct them to an organization that is set up to handle charities like this. they are equiped to handle helping people and most likely more capable of weeding out the scammers than you or i are.
