i decided to go on the hunt for funny pictures to post up. i came across one that is now the basis of this post. it said i love to hear about you being broke, then watch you drink another beer. so let me clear this up.... i am broke, so therefore i must wallow at home with no social life rubbing flint stones and sticks together in my basement to save on my fuel bill??? uhm....no. let me start by saying how much i love beer. so as a great defender of the beer... here are my tips for going out on a budget when you are broke. first things first, determine how close you are in relation to the bar. can you walk/hike/jog...or crawl home? if not and driving is looking like the only option, try carpooling first or go to the closest bar to you. next, specials specials specials...... all bars have them, you just have to ask or look at the magic board behind the irritated bartender who knows you are probably not going to tip all night. also, check out what is on tap and how much. i love my coors light...and am pleasantly surprised to see it on tap for $1.50..instead of $2.75 a bottle. meg saving right there! also...bars that play sport games (football/hockey/basketball/ pole dancing...jk) will offer free food, drink specials and prizes during the halftime. just think... dinner AND a beer is always a good deal. and lastly, those mugs that just dangle above your bartender have a GREAT purpose. you buy one...generally around $10 for the whole year, then each time you get a drink on tap..it will only cost you a dollar. just think, for $10 you were the BEST dancer, BEST singer, you LOVED everyone and thought they were the BEST PERSON EVER, and tipped your bartender 10%. not a bad night out while being broke...who cares that its a tuesday. have a great night out and Good Luck!
