i figured i would just put this out here...to see what people think..or if they wanna help out.. please pick this appart and tell me i cant do it... and why... this will only drive me harder to find a solution! for the last few months ive been looking at opening a venue/home for mchc radio... after some serious math... i have established the below.. estimated monthly costs is $2500 - $4000 (inc. outgoings) excluding initial setup costs $25,000 (over one year) based on running a minimum of two shows a week...with a minimum of 20 people paying entry of 15 dollars... it would be close self sufficient.. the venue would be an AA venue in an industial area close to transport have recording and rehersal facilities, maybe even an art space to allow bands/artists completely DIY/self produce albums at stupidly cheap rates obviously it will have a stage and be acousticly treated..(lighting will be a fancy pants extra in the future) it will be the main base of operations for MCHC Radio (with secure access for hosts to run shows out off) all gigs will be recordered and put online...blah blah... im hoping to get closer to reaching this end goal by the end of the year... i see this as being a very acheivable goal! right now its stilll in planning..but if you would like to help out...partner up ..or what ever let me know... i dont need to highlight the importance of live venues needed in melbourne. id love to see a community run venue like this take off...
