i forgot this day is called independence day. the way it has been celebrated vacillates between something better suited to the title patriot day or gunpowder day. i would celebrate something called independence day or anti-colonial day, if such a day were possible in this country. those values sound right to me, but if you celebrate the USA, you are celebrating a legacy of internal-colonialism and Imperialist foreign policy based squarely on dollar and security dependency. this country is a racket based on international gangsterism and lies. it has nothing to do with independence day. perhaps thats why its so difficult to imagine the ignorance through which the two were ever connected in the first place. To sum it up with a slogan of the Cascadia Forestdefenders, there may be hope, but not for us. Earth First! Down with patriarchy!
