i had dinner with a client (strike that, hes a mate who happens to engage my services too) and his son a few months back, and wow, a certain legend from SA is doing things right as a Dad....check this cut and paste from his wall...... (he was responding to my quick post asking if the rumours were true, was he coming to Be Phenom in Melbourne, coming in from Adelaide) Yes its true Glenn. The boss has let me out of the state again. Tell ya why though. Believe it or not if it wasnt for my oldest lad (who just turned 16 last week) I wouldnt be going. But after his 1st job interview ever the other day, for the only job he has tried for (as he was picky & only wanted to do sales) & securing that job on the spot without going through the normal long process, because the floor manager was so impressed with his selling/closing/objection handling skills test that he casually sprung on him on a store product (that he didnt really know). He was then told not even the 25 year olds who apply there, ever articulate themselves like how he did. He was told he was a f*****n legend. (Choice word, not!!) Despite my son sensing prior, that this manager showed no genuine interest up until that point & even had an attitude. After I questioned how the interview went & found this all out, the key thing for me was that he remembered some dialogues he used in the interview that hed learnt from a couple of seminars I have taken him on in previous years & I think even from our private dinner together. Anyways, with that, told the wife that night, I am going & my boy is coming too because this training crap you dont believe in, has just helped him. Teach them how to fish, you feed them for a lifetime. Right? Anyway, proud as punch thats for sure. See you soon Glenn & everyone else thats going. And remember guys our children are listening, watching & learning from us always, so teach wisely. Their future, is in your hands.
