i have friends that are jewish , catholic and christian agnostic and other religions. this is christmas time, some feel this is forced on them - especially commercially and i agree. church should be in the heart, not in gift wrap. i am never buying a christmas gift again for anyone but a child, since they do not have the maturity to know anything but their freinds have gifts. I am a christian. proud of that, and i have concluded, that i will not endorse the stigma of supporting an unchristian act of not caring how it affects emotionally others that do not have money. or for those that are gods children too, even if they do not subscribe to believing in what i do. i think i heard in some teaching, what you do to the lowest of my children you do to me. well, i love my jewish and agnostic friends. and if this is a burden to them, and the poor, i wont do it . i have said to all i know for years, i dont want a present. i have handed them back ( except two over the past 15 years) i now will not go the other way. this is my reason. now on birthdays. i will gift that. for jesus, i will do some chairty in his honor. that is how i will do christmas from now on. it wont make a dent or difference. but it will be my way of giving to all. in the best way i can express it. merry christmas! to the sad , the despondant , the left out , the lonely the lost , the needy , the bitter and the confused. i wish to grow in the good of man, not the greedy the selfish, the indifferent. thats my vent. and my pledge.
