i heard an interview about 10 years ago where phillp seymour hoffman told the reporter that he loved acting because it gave him the chance if only for a time to be someone other than himself. he struggled with his self worth and purpose even after reaching the pinnacle of his craft, winning an oscar. i thought of the question Jesus asked what would it profit a man to gain the whole world... , that was the first thought i had yesterday when hearing of his untimely death. he was an exceptional actor. he did not get roles based on his looks or certainly not his voice but on the skill in which he perfected his craft. he could portray emotion as good as any and now at 46 his mortal life has come to a tragic end. look around you in the days ahead and you will find someone who is deciding whether life is worth it. dont be so consummed with your own life not to notice and when you do reach out to them because if you will excuse what has become a cliche, there but for the grace of God.....
