i need to vent: COH, an assisted living facility that my step mom is in, needs to thank god that i am not in any distance to drive over there and kick the sh** out of some people!!! i understand rules and crap..........but when my father shows up in a cab to see his wife, and they lock him in the entry way, call me and tell me that i need to get him out of there cuz hes not allowed to see his wife without one of us kids there with him..........omg am i at my wits end!! my dad has dementia, he doesnt understand or remember that he cant go see his own wife when he wants. and that some employee is sitting there watching my dad in a locked entry way cry and hit the wall cuz he wants to see his wife!! and here i thought that an assisted living facility that deals with memory care and people that have dementia would have a little compassion. WRONG! i have never felt more helpless in my life then i do right now.
