i remember it! i remember the last night i felt this way. i was 13, and this is no lie.... i was in my bed, it was november, of course basketball was on every other kids mind...mine..? mine was on the fact that for the first time i had a real gun. a remington 700 mtn rifle in .243... my birthday was a few days before and i finally had a real gun to hunt with.. i also had no clue that a 3-9x40 scope meant it was adjustable (this comes into play), i just had a real gun with a scope. i didnt sleep a wink, because the next day was opening day, and dad was gonna let me hunt a little before school and most importantly, before basketball practice....i walked behind the barn on cane creek, no clue, no nothing...and i honestly saw one of the biggest bucks i have ever seen in NC. he was 100 yards downhill of me in a clearing and awful small in the scope (it was on 3x and i had no clue you could adjust it to 9x, just the truth of a self taught hunter)....i was shaking so bad i had to hit the ground and quickly drew down on the buck, which was standing facing me.... i squeezed and knocked every white hair off his chest but never drew blood. i can remember every moment of that morning........ the point was that i never slept a wink the night before season i was so excited. i have never felt that feeling since then.... hehe, 13 then, 31 now...and im sittin in Bozeman doing the same thing....excpet this time its with cameras charging and preparing to hit the high country for elk with the Primos Hunting crew. funny how dreams can come true, but they cannot without dreaming....to every little kid out there, it doesnt matter if its the NBA, NFL, art, education, or any other career. if you are a boy or girl......never be afraid to chase your dreams! you never know what may happen. keep faith, keep positive, and i promise you there will be so many bumps, bruises, and pains along the way that may make you think you can never continue..but dream! just dream! and never give up.... life is too short, live it
