i used to buy bananas and go out on my backstep early morning to eat them, bareback, the cool air is a good way to wake up, one bite for me, break off one bite and throw onto the roof of the washroom for the birds, all kinds of birds, blue jays, kiskidees, blackbirds, semp, birds i cant name, yellows, reds, blues, purples and i could watch them from the backstep eat and sing on the roof, they trusted me, came when i called, i dare say they used to show off. my grandmother decided two months ago that the roof of the washroom needed repair, this morning i went out, one bite for me, one for the birds, tossed on to the shiny new roof, i hear "not on the new roof!", it seems the birds heard it too. sometimes less is more. I miss my birds.
