i used to wonder: how is america founded on revolution but they demonize the concept? how is revolution and defying authority good way back then, but never again afterwards and its been so unthinkable ever since? but now it makes sense. the people demonizing revolution by marginalized / oppressed / progressive groups can still canonize the american revolution and have that be totally logically consistent, because those people DO support rebellion: racist white guy property-loving land-grabbing tax-hating rebellion. tea partying and clive bundying. the kind of rebellion and sedition and protest that NEVER results in violent suppression or arrest, even when elected officials are saying people need second amendment remedies to deal with government overreach, even when protesters are pointing loaded guns at police officers in the Nevada desert in defense of their right to steal public land. these people can hate the government, hate the laws, even hate the cops, AND STILL bristle with rage when black people dare to criticize the police for gunning down their unarmed children. those SAME PEOPLE who go on and on about the rights of the citizenry to resist tyranny and the legacy of noble revolution imparted by the founders -- THEY are the ones who hate criticism of the cops, who hate people resisting oppression, who loathe and despise leftist intimations of liberation and revolution. because their revolution is regressive. rebellion by the privileged in defense of the forces of reaction against other forces of reaction. in other words, exactly the same as the american revolution.
