i was asked last fall to be part of a series this summer with several other tracks, i was told there was going to be a small fee added to the race fees to pay for the series trophies. i told him is sounds good so far, so i was in. but as the price came out for the series races and was told it was $7 for the first class and $5 for any other class. i asked why the price had to be so high and was told to cover the cost of the series. but the only cost he was going to have is the trophies. he does not have any cost as far as holding the races, the track where the race is held pays for them. so for the first series race he had 59 entries times that by the fee he charged and you come to over $350.00 that he put in his pocket. times that by the 6 races in the series and he will make over $2.000.00 with no cost to him except the trophies. he could of made it $2. for the first and $1 after that and still made around $90.00 for the first week and over $500.00 for the series. that would be plenty of money to pay for the trophies. if he was doing this for the racers and the tracks like he said it was for in the first place. and when i run a series race i do not take a trophy off my racers. so if i come in 3rd in 4x4 corr truck, the guy in 4 gets third. i was told by several of my racers that he is not going to do this. if he gets first then he is going to take it. that is not fair to the racers, he got to pick the dates and tracks that best fit his schedule. he is the one that set the rules so he should not benefit form what rules are followed and what ones are not. if that would of been one of the races he was winning and not 4x4 corr truck im sure the 6 sec. penalty would of been imposed on the winner, he even knew about it and did nothing because it was not his race.
