i was disgusted by the sit and lie ordinance passed by chico city council this week. chico business owners have their heads so far up their asses that they believe it is okay to sweep the impoverished citizens of their town under the rug and trample their human rights for the sake of keeping up appearances. im sorry that the sight of peoples homelessness isnt aesthetically pleasing enough to allow them in your downtown. all the money the business owners and upper class citizens are putting towards armed patrol men could be put towards actual solutions to homelessness, such as shelters or more low-income housing, but helping others that are less fortunate just doesnt seem to be on their agenda. i purpose a boycott of all chico businesses. i personally cant support the economy of a town that treats human beings like trash.
