i was given the number 7 so.....here are some things you may not know about me. 1) at the age of 5, while playing Batman with my sister Joy Payton Roe, i attempted to perform a Batmanish type of move and dove through a window. it nearly all ended there with a gash next to my heart and a long cut running down my left forearm (still have the scars to prove it). 2) a couple years later i almost killed my brother John Erik Payton after accidentally hitting him in the forehead with a baseball bat. 3)a year or so later, with a home made ramp that John and i made i set the neighborhood record jumping 5 sidewalk blocks on my bicycle. 4)when i was 17 while driving my car (1969 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S) i lost my brakes while driving down a steep hill with a potential girlfriend in the car. the road ended and i had to jump (Dukes of Hazard style) over an eight foot ditch. survived. 5)earlier that same summer i was cruising down a country road at around 100 mph when i came across a parked state trooper. i ran. never got caught. 6)i HATE snakes. 7)i once talked my sisters into going with me to a Grateful Dead concert. while there i met a girl from one of the various traveling busses. shortly after we were making out on the ground (outdoor venue) right next to my sisters (i think i inhaled that day). when the show was over, we left. and i met my wife he very next day. married now for 24 years and counting.
