i was going about my day, busy with this and that...when i had to stop. i started to slowly refocus - re-prioritize...and than i started to pray....spontaneously i began to pray for new camoldonese...for the rhythm of the day on that very beautiful coastal mountain, for the priests, the brothers, the workers ~ the sound of the bells reminding me of work reminding me of prayer reminding me of community. my thoughts/my prayers meandered ever so sweetly to the retreatants; the guests...individuals seeking a quiet place to integrate their body their mind and their spirit, away from computers, telephones and the many demands our various vocations call upon us to do......knowingly or unknowingly integration in a peaceful loving manner seems to happen on this sacred piece of land...in todays society i believe there to be a tremendous need for the contemplative experience it has become essential to my journey. there is such noise and clutter about us, to retreat into the quiet offers such an opportunity in discovery of our authentic self....please take every opportunity to open your eyes your heart to listen to that still small voice inside....when we make ourselves available to our authentic self in this way i believe we are also making ourselves more available to others in our communities, to our intimate partners, to our families and to god....
