i wouldnt say that messy people are necessarily highly creative, or the other way around, and i myself cannot create in a cluttered environment. but i am very good at organically creating chaos, that tends to become a snowball because i am always multitasking and working on more than 2 projects at once, without a lot of time for cleaning. i agree that being messy feels strangely like you are in control of your territory. nobody believes when i say that i understand my mess, and that probably i would get lost if things were exactly in place. but it is true. Your desk is a mess. Then again, it’s your mess, and thus, it feels very in-control. When you habitually fail to put things in their designated place, you’re bound to get creative figuring out ways to make everything, I don’t know, fit.
