if its ok id like to share the story of not just how i first got into listening to The Boss but how i first got into listening to music altogther. Every since i was a child ive allwas had trouble sleeping at night, i still do now if im honest but anyway what i used to do is sneak downstairs in the middle of the night, turn on the TV with the sound on low and tried to find a movie to watch. Most ot the time i just watched the copy of Ghostbusters 2 we had (R.I.P Harold Ramis) but every now and again i found a film was just starting. I turned on the TV and changed the channel to ITV (its a channel we have here in the UK, thought id just say that so other people around the world reading this now what im talking about because there were 57 channels but nothing on, anyway) on night is turn the TV on and i film was starting and there was was song playing over the intro of it and it was the first song i ever herad that struck my heart and soul to say This IS Music, This is where your journey into live begins i heard that song i made a promise to find out this film so i can just watch the intro again to listen to this song and hopefully use the film to help find the song so i could ask my parents to get me the soundtrack but never did :( . I searched for years but never found either the film or the song until about 12 years ago I was 14 walked into Woolworths and heared in my head to go towards the CD shelf, never one to argue with myself (Im not mad, honest lol) I headed to the CDs and after a minute or two I had picked up a couple of U2 CDs I hadnt got (U2 was all I listened to at the time) and headed to the counter whr there was a young cashier (she must only of been 2 years old then me, if i had the guts i would of asked her out as i was in love with the queen of the supeermarket) but anyway i placed the CDs i had picked on the counter she looked at them then look at me and said If You like U2 you are going to love this. She turned around and picked up a Cd that was behind her and showed it to me. I looked at the CD and heared that voice in my head again Buy it! Buy it now! it yelled so by the end of the day 2 U2 albums and Bruce Springsteens greatest hits When i got home i put Bruces album on first and put the CD to Shuffle, even to this day i dont no why i did that but im glad I did because the First track that played was Streets Of Philadelphia, and instantly remember back to my youth that THIs was the song from that film, THIS was the song from that night, I had finally found it and ever since I have found that song again I have bought every Springsteen album out there (or believe i have lol, always on the look out to see if ive missed any). After the long journey to find that song id love to see Bruce in concert but it love even more to just to meet Bruce, shake his hand maybe have a beer with the legend (well id have a soft drink, im 2 years sober) shake the mans hand and say Thank you, Thank you for the music, the inspiration and for opening my soul to the world of music. If anyone has read this, thanks for reading and if by any chance you, the readers meet The Boss if you could share this story with him id really appratiate it. so again a big thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story. :) Oh and P.S I never did ask the cashier out, im 26 and still dont have the guts to ask a woman out lol oh well ill always have the music
