if viewing lang the tv news is depressing enough, imagine the people on the ground - the victims themselves and humanitarian relief workers on the ground. if you can - volunteer yourself in medical missions, relief packaging, even your skills (write guidelines and even spreading verified facebook status updates on needs on the ground specially of other areas). here are some way to contact people to volunteer for medical missions: YOLANDA MEDICAL RELIEF Hello friends, please like the page Yolanda Medical Relief for easier updates on the med relief missions to the affected areas in the Visayas. We need help in the following areas: 1. VOLUNTEERS: Right now we are creating a database of volunteer doctors for easy mobilization. Please send me a message at 09267526446 with your name if you want to volunteer. 2. LOGISTICS: It has been understandably difficult to coordinate with the local government of these affected areas, so we are asking anyone who can offer logistic support (areas we can go to, how to get there, contact person, population, etc) to please contact us also. 3. TRANSPORTATION: We have cessna planes which can carry limited passengers and supplies, and require a functional airport to land on. If anyone knows of other ways that we can transport medical supplies and carry more doctors to remote areas without airports, please let us know. 4. DONATIONS We have drop off points for goods, preferably meds and medical supplies. We also accept monetary donations. We are overwhelmed by your goodwill and generosity and willingness to help. Malang, UPDATE: A good citizen from Netherlands have contacted me and will provide Military/Private Plane to be arranged at Eastern Samar and other affected areas. They will be arriving on Wednesday from the Netherlands and will bring satellite phones which will be utilized in the affected areas. They are asking if we can arrange medical missions going to the place (nurses, doctors, medicines). If you know someone whom we can ask for, please do message me or text me at 0917-5070761..
