if you look closely at what the SNP have done as first a minority government in coalition and as a majority government and compare that to the previous Labour government in power both in Westminster and Scotland you will soon realise just how much Labour have short changed Scotland.............. free prescriptions help everyone in Scotland. My council tax would be exactly £510 more per year based on the same property in Manchester. I have no idea how much I have saved on bridge tolls. They Kept A&E departments open that Labour wanted to close. Free care for the elderly. 1,000 extra police. Record numbers of modern apprenticeships. they reversed the 30 year decline in educational standards. Large number of infrastructure projects including upgrades to existing roads & motorways (inc new forth bridge, the M8, the M80, the A9, A90 and A96. and completing the M74) and huge renewables investment. kept 84 of 94 election promises as a minority government and during one of the worst recessions ever (they do what they say) Restored free higher education in Scotland (£9,000 per year elsewhere in UK). Built 25,000 social houses (double what labour did) Priority treatment for veterans and servicemen in the NHS in Scotland. Gave NHS Scotland nurses a wage rise (England & wales got nothing) £840 million for the new south Glasgow hospital. Reduced hospital waiting times to their lowest ever and increased the number of nurses, doctors and dentists. A new dental school in Aberdeen. Provided HPV vaccine for girls in S2. frozen bonuses to NHS consultants. more GP practices are now open in the evenings and at weekends than at any time. Abolished charges at all NHS-run hospital car parks. delivered more than 40,000 new heating systems to help Scots on low incomes to reduce energy costs. 330 schools built or refurbished. smallest average primary school class sizes ever. expanded free nursery education, benefitting 100,000 children. Extended free school meals to 55,000 children from lower income families. Free bus travel for pensioners and veterans in Scotland. Banned GM crops in Scotland. and so much more ............... What has Westminster done? Lets not forget the bedroom tax IS a labour policy proposed by the Brown government before they left office and supported and used as a political football by labour. A Labour party that wants to end free prescriptions and the council tax cap, some socialist party they are. #jistsayaye #yesalliance #the45 heraldscotland/politics/wider-political-news/labour-bedroom- tax-hypocrisy.22689350
