ijebunewsxtra Obasanjo, a devil reincarnate –Buruji Kasham The chairman, organisation and mobilisation committee, PDP, South west, Prince Buruji Kashamu has it back at Chief Olusegun Obasanjo memoir My Watch, describing the Ex-President as a devil reincarnate whose stock in trade is to destroy outstanding legacies of his perceived enemies. Kasham spoke today at the President Goodluck Jonathan Political Centre in Ijebu Igbo during the public presentation of ‘No Enemies to Fight’, a book of President Jonathan quotable quotes edited by Oronto Douglas and Akpodigha Filatei. The PDP chieftain described the motive and timing of the launch of the Obasanjo’s book as suspicion, adding that it was targeted at rubbishing the achievements of Mr President and scoring cheap political points. “Despite any claim to the contrary, the motive and timing of its publication are suspect. It was targeted at rubbishing the achievements of the President and scoring cheap political points. But, Nigerians and the sophisticated people of the South West are not deceived. They can see through the smokescreen of the book and take informed decisions. On a personal note, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo said he wrote in his book that it leaves much to be desired for the PDP and the President to associate with somebody that has been indicted in the United States. I say again that it is not in his place to say such. It is deceitful and hypocritical for him to be blowing hot and cold at the same time. It was under his administration in 2000/2001 that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) represented the Federal Government and testified in the same case in London that I do not have any association with drug trafficking. I was tried in the United Kingdom on the basis of the same allegation by the United States, discharged and acquitted when the British court found that it was a case of mistaken identity”. Prince Kasham however appealed to the people of Southwest to vote enmasse for PDP in the next election in order to sustain the good governance being achieved by Mr President. “It is the season of electioneering and I wish to plead with the good people of the South West, to shine their eyes and remain focused and united. We should not allow some people to pool the wool over our eyes. They neither represent nor have any change to offer. They are just desperate power seekers who simply want to expand their political and economic frontiers, and continue with their culture of imposition”.
