im not Jesus. im a screw up & a sinner. He wasnt. as the hymn says im prone to wander. im wired to make bad choices. i desperately need Jesus. &…i recognize the dangers in trying to do life in contexts & circles & environments that pull us towards lifestyles & choices that dont honor God…family…His church…etc. & unfortunately…i cant tell you ive nailed it every time. i havent. but i can tell you ive experienced both the leering glare of self-righteousness & the broken prayer from a half drunk man at a bar at 2am. &…i choose environments where i have a better shot of experiencing the latter…even if it comes bearing the weight of the first. &…folks in the second category are usually a lot more fun to hang out with anyways. :-) this is a good…& challenging read. im not much of a share-er of facebook things….but in my humble opinion…this dude nailed it. i will worship full octane this weekend at my church. i love the church. Jesus died for the church. those redeemed & Christ-following people were the reason He gave His life. but…people who havent experienced Jesus most likely wont wake up & decide to spend their weekends with me in church. so…i might as well go buy a round or 2 and let them know they matter…they are loved…where they are. & that theres more to their story…& more to their life than they will find on their own. & maybe…they eventually will wake up & want to worship with me on sunday. enjoy the read. cheers.
