imcoiraq/new--updates.aspx Press Release Iraqi Mine/UXO Clearance organization and Child Culture House hold jointly celebration to raise awareness of the dangers of mines and remnants of war Baghdad April 4th, 2014 IMCO Media The Sixth Childhood Cultural Spring Festival organized by the Child Culture House ended with joint celebration regarding awareness of the dangers of mines and remnants of war The ceremony that took place on the stage of Dar Al-Atfal that attended by Mr. Mahmoud Hassan Parliament member, Mr. Mahmoud Aswad Khalifa, Director of the Children Culture Department, Mr. Zahim Jihad Mutar director of IMCO and a number of educators and intellectuals, groups of different schoolchildren in Baghdad which are more than 350 students begans with national anthem and display a documentary film about the dangers of mines and operetta entitled (childrens dreams ) is talking about the impact of mines and remnants of war on children , peace and the environment. Then the band presented theatrically presentation entitled (the active rooster ) that talk about tolerance , the rule of love , acceptance of others and cooperation . Then ( Kumari and Hamoudi ) band presented different entertainment activities that raise awareness for children through awareness posters and stickers regarding the dangers of mines and remnants of war and how to deal with it and report them. Mr. Mahmoud Aswad Khalifa in his speech shows the activities undertaken by the Children Culture House as an educational and cultural institution interested in building the good personal of childhood in Iraq. He said that he is happy to attend more than 350 children with the first cooperation of Iraqi Mine / UXO clearance Organization that carried out with significant tasks to get rid of the massive numbers of mines and remnants of war that considered as life-threatening particularly the innocent childhood . He expressed his hope that this cooperation will be a springboard for the child to be safe and well in Iraq. He expressed the readiness of Al-DAR for future cooperation with the organization and in all Iraqi provinces to contribute in spreading awareness through artistic activities and joint activities Mr. Zahim Jihad Mutar mentions the humanitarian tasks carried out by the organization through the humanitarian clearance work, MRE and help survivors of landmine accidents in numbers. On behalf of the organization he thanked the Child Culture House for the cooperation and contributes in spreading cultural and educational awareness of the dangers of mines and remnants of war among the kids and the community, it is an effort that is very respected and appreciated Mr. Mahmoud Hassan, the Judge, he a pointed in his speech to the importance of concerted joint efforts between governmental institutions and the NGOs, he said that he is very happy for seeing a model for such cooperation today between Child Culture House and the Iraqi organization, which is highly appreciated what the organization is doing regarding humanitarian clearance, assist survivors and educate the community especially the children. He expressed his high appreciation of this joint effort Each of Mr. Mahmoud Hassan Parliament member, Mahmoud Khalifa and Mr. Zahim Jihad Mutar rotate in distribution of prizes and gifts, which included awareness guidance for shareholders children in the festival. The great success of the joint celebration to raise awareness of the dangers of mines formed a positive starting point for future cooperation to carry out joint cultural and technical activities of awareness in different places in Iraq
