imdb/title/tt0429493/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Watched this earlier this week while down with a cold. This proves what are likely ideal viewing circumstances as the film requires very little attention and rather a lot of forgiveness, which is more forthcoming when one feels a little pitiable themselves. Not that The A-Team is a bad film, really, at least considering the films remit which is to ask the impossible task of resurrecting a show that was only ever held together by duct tape and childhood fancy anyway, but it certainly not anything anyone is going to get excited about either. The plot, mostly holes, manages the impressive task of covering almost no ground while also never slowing down. In all, the film is about five extended heist sequences strung together with little consideration for why we might actually care about whats at stake. Granted, perhaps not even asking the audience why theyd care is a wise choice. Let them take it or leave it. These action sequences, which balloon to fill the entire film, are over-the-top but also poorly-constructed, with little overall logic to guide the audiences eye. Which places it pretty firmly in line with all of Hollywoods current blockbuster action pieces. The cast meanwhile is a bizarre hodge-podge. Liam Neeson affects some kind of accent playing Hannibal, but to some degree the film is pushing Bradley Coopers Face as the real star. Which maybe he is, between this and American HUstle, Ive yet to see him do anything worthwhile, although this is certainly the better film. UFC Fighter Quinton Rampage Jackson struggles with his acting but hes replacing Mr. T so really, good job Mr. Jackson! Meanwhile Murdock is again the comic relief although he lacks the frantic energy of Dwight Schultzs original and the pop culture references invariably begin to grate. In the end, only Hannibal and Face are really players in the story, for whatever little thats worth. Meanwhile Jessica Biel again looks immaculate playing a tough, badass chick. I have no idea why she keeps getting these roles but whatever. After a lot of huffing and puffing, the plot eventually resolves with the promise of a sequel that Im pretty sure no one wants to see. Good show! So basically, if you have a head-cold and you still want something you can feel superior to, then The A-Team is a good place to start. Although as mean as that sounds, you genuinely could do a lot worse as far as such product is concerned.
