imgur/gallery/HqTVd Well, hate to be that guy... But I do love my dogs and I work in an animal shelter. Pure breeds are relatively recent creations. They come with a host of medical issues in every breed (and no, there are no real exceptions to this). Shelters do have plenty of pure bred animals, but it is hard to follow a specific line of breeding without paper work. I dont mind breeders, it is often the wrong mindset to look at breeders as our enemies. They arent- most of them find loving homes and can warn people of the tendencies of the breed. People making a quick buck off of a bloodline altered to the point where genetic viability is sacrificed, where the dog has a hard lot in life, and where they can quickly breed the next batch are not good people... I have a pure bred dog. George is an English Bulldog, through and through. Ive seen his problems though. I love him so very much. I often am saddened though- he has an amazing personality, he is a happy dog... I just wish he could have a healthier body that can keep up with him, and worse, he isnt even an old dog.
