in defense of angry motorists: why bicycle riders deserve scorn. 1) you are in my lane. you are going 20 or 30 km/hr. i want, and am allowed to go, 60km/hr. your slow ass is making me go 1/3 the speed i should. 2) you dont obey stop signs. you have a right to the road? youre a vehicle too? then act like one. 3) you dont signal. but i know if your recklessness causes me to even brush up against you, youre probably dead or severely injured. and then ill probably be blamed, at least until im acquitted through a long, expensive process. 4) you swerve around me like a mad man. i get it. youre small and can fit in little spaces. you see an opportunity to move ahead. youre in a rush. but you dont need to cut across three lanes to get a two car lead. (now you know how i feel when you made me drive 20 km/h.) 5) you think youre so great. youre not. 6) further to the last point: youre making absolutely no appreciable difference to climate change, or livable communities, or any other fiction. the only thing you are doing is making me and other motorists hate you.*** ***actually, that was probably your goal all along. touche. you won.
