in june 1975 these 2 rigs would respond first due to Eastern Airlines crash of flight 66 on Rockawat tpke Mutual aide request of FDNY. after a terrible storm hit our area we heard a loud thunder sound at the fire house LCFD .shorly there after the house phone rang,Chief Damonda from the NCFSA called and said a plane had crashed just outside our district and it sounded bad. Our Deputy Chief at the time has in the fire house and he called the FDNY Queens Dispatcher to ask if they needed any help. The dispatcher asked if we had rescue equipment and medics,our Chief said we did and the they requested we get all resources into the scene. We responded with 324 a 1954 flood light and 328 a 1972 dodge power wagon with our hurst tool and all our Rescue and emt supplies. the 2 two units with FDNY Engine 314 were the first units to reach the fiery scene.
