in the 80s I WAS a BUILDING INSPECTOR and MUNICPAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER and PROPERTY STANDARDS OFFICER for the CITY of THOROLD and THE TOWN OF LINCOLN. I know a thing or two about THE BUILDING CODE,/ THE FIRE CODE / THE PROPERTY STANDARDS ACT. I AM ALSO AWARE that the CITY of St. Catharines carried out a PROPERTY STANDARDS INSPECTION and that THE FIRE DEPARTMENT closed the LIONS due to various reasons. MY 1ST QUESTION IS THIS: WHY HAS THE CITY of St. Catharines NOT used the powers granted under the ACTS to go in an clean up these DEPLORABLE BUILDING CONDITIONS? MY SECOND QUESTION IS THIS: WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN IF THESE CONDITIONS ARE LEFT TO WORSEN? MY FIRST ANSWER IS THIS: I dunno. MY SECOND ANSWER IS THIS: The buildings are gonna have to be declared UNSAFE (we dont know how bad they are inside but judging by the exteriors one can only imagine that is is not a pretty sight) and THEN THERE IS GONNA BE NOTHING LEFT but MORE ABANDONED LOTS and it is gonna look like HARLEM in nEW yORK cITY. mymy LAST QUESTION IS THIS: WHEN ARE PEOPLE GONNA DEMAND EN MASSE THAT THIS GETS CLEANED UP? CLEANED UP MEANS REPAIRS AND RENOVATIONS. or you are gonna have MORE MESS and MORE EM-BARE-ASS-MENT WHAT A BLOODY SHAME! HERE IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TODAY. YES TODAY. THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN TODAY.
