in the modern period Heidegger’s project is the most fertile one - TopicsExpress

in the modern period Heidegger’s project is the most fertile one from the point of view of a potential philosophy of glory. In the face of all unmediated forms of theism, he keeps the process of his thought firmly fixed on the main issue, which is the mystery of the immanent distinction between Being and the existent. Christian theology as a science loses its entire basis if it thinks that it can develop the revelation of the living God while bypassing the mystery of this distinction, and it sinks accordingly to the status of being a science of existent things amongst others, and will properly be subject to the jurisdiction of philosophical thought. This is more true today than ever before, where theology thinks that without a philosophical mediation, indeed renouncing even the medium of the human sciences, it can enter into dialogue with the exact and technological (natural) sciences, a dialogue in which it is clearly fated to draw the shorter straw.
