#insert19 Pretty woke up to an empty house! Thembeka had clearly gone to work and had taken Libo to daycare on her way there, there was no sign of Mfundo, but he had left his sweater behind, maybe he would be back. When Pretty looked at the time she couldnt believe it was 11am already! She really had slept late for she had comforted Thembeka throughout the night. After she had finished watching tv with Mfundo she had decided to go check upon Thembeka. She found her lying in bed with her wedding photo tightly clutched in her arms with eyes puffy and red from all the crying. She really didnt know what had gotten into Jongie. Inoba ndim Pretty? Ndimdikile? She had asked through tears I mean I dont understand, Ive done close to everything to make him happy, supported him with his studies and career kanti yintoni le ayifunayo uJongikhaya Pretty Pretty just shrugged her shoulders for she really didnt know what to say. Ndiphendule Pretty ndiphendule Thembeka had wailed as she shook her. She had cried so hard that baby Libo woke up crying too. Pretty went on to make him a bottle only to find out his formula was almost finished so she had to add on the cows milk she had bought. Thank God for it! Jongie was just disgusting! Umntana ade aphelelwe nayi formular ekhona ephangela! She had bottle fed her 2 and a half year old nephew back to sleep. Sat with his mother for almost 5 hours until she had run out of tears at 3 am in the morning. Pretty had only went to bed at around 4 which is the reason why she had woken up so late. She felt so hungry that she first went into kitchen without even brushing her teeth. Only to find out there was no bread, no milk, just a few lousy eggs left! Mfundo, it must have been him, hes always done this. Disappointed Pretty went to bath, cleaned the house and at around 1 her phone rang, it was from an unknown number. Hello Hey, remember me? Said the caller. Ummh you sound familiar, whos this? Its me Lebo, bus trip to cape town? Remember Pretty laughed ofcourse I do, hey didnt think youd call this soon Neither did I, I need company, wanna do lunch? Pretty felt her tummy grumble lunch? Ofcourse, just tell me where and when No Ill come to you, text me your address and directions lebo said. Ok cool will do and they both hung. Pretty immediately texted the directions, Lebo had great timing as she was really hungry. She decided to get dressed in something decent as she was dressed in worn out shorts and Mfundos sweater. It was a bit sunny outside with just a light breeze and Pretty chose to wear that beautiful yellow polka dot dress that Luthando had bought her. Wore a small grey cardigan, gladiators and tied her twist braids in a neat bun. She just smiled as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. The dress did remind her of Luthando, she decided to take a selfie and sent it to him. Within minutes he texted back Hee akasemhle umntu wam kuyiwaphi na? Lunch :D with a friend Pretty replied. Utsho lenkwenkwe yakho yase Kapa nhe ok sho LOL hayman Luthando andinankwenkwe mna Jonga bhabha Im a bit busy nhe call you later umhle vah and with that he was no longer online. Before she could put her phone down, another whatsapp text came through: Im waiting outside, green house, 106 right? That was fast, Pretty thought to herself. She immediately replied that she would be out in a few minutes. She had one last glance in the mirror. Glossed her lips, filled up her handbag, took her phone and house keys and made her way to the door. She first peeked through the window and noticed that a big black Fortuner was waiting at the gate. Yhoo angade aze ngesgadla Pretty laughed as she locked the door then gate. The car apparently belonged to Lebos rich retired grandma and the driver was her half brother Onesimo. Onesimo had really looked familiar but Pretty didnt know where she remembered that face from. He had dropped them off in town and they had lunch at Spur and had a few drinks. After that Pretty accompanied Lebo to do some shopping, she was only interested in shops like sportscene and markham and she did look a bit tomboyish when Pretty came to think of it. Lebo proved to be great company though, she had a lot to say and was actually very funny. She wasnt particularly enjoying staying with her fathers family though. She complained about her granny judging the way she dressed and that she hadnt even seen her father as he lived with his wife and other children except for Onesimo in the township. Pretty had appreciated the company, she had needed a breath of fresh air, staying alone and hungry in that house would have been all too depressing! At around 4pm Onesimo came back to fetch them, they dropped Pretty off and said their goodbyes. Thanks for lunch, it was really nice of you, I really had fun Pretty smiled. Pleasure is all my mine, we should do this more often Sure thing, it was nice meeting you too Simo He smiled back as he drove off. Oomakhelwane were already watching. Pretty didnt care, they gossiped too much anyway with that she decided to go fetch Libo from daycare. When they got back the baby was asleep and Pretty went to put him down. She went back to the lounge and sat on the sofa feeling a bit sad, what the lady at daycare had said had really hurt her. Sisi bendicela angeziswa umntwana ngomso uba akanakutya, noko ugqiba okwabanye Those words had really stung and Pretty had never felt so ashamed in her entire life. She was about to contact Jongie when a whatsapp text from Lebo came through: Hey it me again, dont take this the wrong way nhe, I know weve just met but I think I felt a real connection, I think I like you
