interesting, although i would like to point out that hearing aids are not a treatment for glue ear, they do nothing to tackle the presence of glue ear itself just the symptom relating to hardness of hearing, unlike the gromets which actually drain the fluid thereby alleviating the symptoms by tackling the cause. with a hearing aid a child may be able to improve their hearing level but would still face pain and other possible side effects from prolonged glue ear such as tinitus or balance issues or even hearing impediment etc. bbc.co.uk/news/health-15386049
