interesting thought as I woke up today: while we are sleeping, the line between fantasy and reality is blurred. for the most part, we are oblivious to reality (whats going on around us) and we are focused on fantasy (what seems real in our dreams). many people sleepwalk, living their lives without a clear distinction between what is real in life and what has become real in their minds (fantasy). And when decisions are made based on fantasy, the results are never good. Some people create an alternate life based on fantasy, while avoiding that which screams for their attention. This avoidance never deals with issues and will ultimately bring their life to a screeching halt. Reality has a way of demanding our attention when we fail to face the music head-on. Deception is the result of feeding fantasy while abstaining from the truth that can stabilize our internal worlds. While it is healthy to be optimistic in life, there is a need to be realistic as well. Some people carry this tendency over to their spiritual lives, living a life of hyper-faith while denying their feelings or what is happening around them. Others, however, are so consumed with reality that they fail to activate their faith for God to intervene. God gave us a spirit to fuel our optimism. But He also gave us a mind to energize our capacity to be realistic. Coordinating their efforts will produce great results in life.
