is disgusted and angry Farukh Ul Islam lives in Metia Buruz, Bot tola area near the railway line, opposite a petrol pump. He is a photographer and a professed atheist. A few days back responding to some religious people he made certain comments against Islam and its prophet that infuriated a large number of Muslims in this area. A mob came on the 2nd of March and threatened him. Then bigger crowd of many thousand Muslims came again on the 3rd of March, started throwing stones at his house, his shop and destroyed properties. He was beaten up. He took shelter in the nearest mosque. The crowd attacked the mosque to take him out. The police came and failed to pacify the mob. RAF lathi charged and rescued Farukh. Now he is in police custody, badly injured. We do not know if he is receiving adequate care and treatment. Both his wife and child have fled from the area to an undisclosed place. There is no news of him. Feels Press has to be stubborn about demanding clarification and explanation from those who triggered this. Incidents such as these bring us to a point when we fail to comprehend our own democracy and its processes.
