it is entirely possible i have unwittingly fooled you. a (third) gorgeous soul told me today she wished she could just add more guilt free joy to her life like i do. she, as well as others, seem to be under the impression that delight and effortless living comes naturally to me. here me oh so clearly: it has N O T.. the joy i create is intentional but anything but effortless (now.) i come from a family of hard working, pioneering women. im also a capricorn and as the illustrious coach (karen hawkwood) told me. i tend to make mountains out of molehills. so this here (finger pointing at my chest) is not natural born free spirit. rather, i have been a oft tethered, rule bound spirit who desired and decided to break free and found i could (and do) choose my own happiness. how? i allow myself to feel the guilt that arises when i put self care as a priority and let i pass through me; not get stuck in me and run the show. i know that taking care of others (out of fear or obligation) is not why im put on this earth. AND, that when i take care of others when i need to take care of myself, i not only handicap myself, but i actually hinder others growth. when i rescue others from feeling uncomfortable, annoyed, and/or angry i do myself and them a disservice. i also know, i do not want to slide into my 88th year not having lived large. i want to play and dance and explore and learn. i cannot do that from just sitting in my living room watching International HGTV. i sometimes need to go OUT and i sometimes need to just BE. you get to choose delight too. its not reserved for a just a few. there is enough for you. create an intention to cultivate it in your daily life. start by finding the holes that need an injection of happiness, enchantment and satisfaction. plant the bliss seeds and then watch you grow.
