it was hard to decide what to tell you about this week. I went with food again. Major shopping trips. shanghai does not have coffee creamer, coconut cream, or mixers for liquor drinks. Remember the pink strawberry drink from nestle, it taste a bit like that, only crunchy. I needed nuts this week, so i went to the only vender i know about and got 2 lbs of whole nuts. I knew i would be spending a few days shelling nuts, but they are needed. When i got them home i noticed they had already been roasted, which is odd for pecans and walnuts, but okay. several cracked nuts later and the smell was super sweet and getting stronger. Seems the nuts have been soaked in sugar water and then baked dry. They are a holiday treat here. No one cooks with nuts. opps
