its been a very long day and its going to be a very long night , i just hope my prays are answered and tomorrow is a better day and our beautiful mare dosnt get worse , we have a case of impact colic seems simple call the vet get treatment all fixed ,my horse isnt sick she just has colic well its just not that simple any more our mare should be in a stable at a vet on iv treatments and her chances of survival would be good , but that cant happen till we get a clear hendra test result , so our vets have been out administered pain relief and they did use bio hazard suits , but cant drench or send her to hospital she cannot be admitted for intensive treatment till her results are in and they take at least 2 days so tues night we will know , so heads up peoples if your debating about hendra vaccination , it could be you sitting here typing this telling people ,that a simple case of colic can become a very long dreadful fight for life as no treatments can be given until you get a clear result , in reality we have done everything possible, she has an amazing heart and is fighting hard and i will do every thing possible to help her live lets just hope this impaction moves , but i will not let her suffer and we will probably have to put her down way before our test results are back ,she will not suffer and her condition is stable at present we will probably have to put her down later tonight thats the harsh reality , if she had of been vaccinated this struggle for life would not be happening at all ,im not vet bashing our vets are amazing , but people this is the reality of life with horses now and i never im my wildest dreams thought that a case of colic would end up like this
