its been awhile since i last posted an update about my patient and her progress! for those wondering... Mum is doing really well recovering from her operation exactly a week ago. this is the best she has recovered from any surgery ever, she has had a few minor hiccups during this past week but overall she is feeling good, stressing less, not in pain, taking her medication, doing her exercises, eating well and her wound is healing the way it should! we are doing our best to keep her comfortable at home and over the past week we have found a routine that is working for us! although we are still waiting for more scans and results... & the removal of cancer in her breast and lymph nodes last week was successful... Mums doctors have indicated she will have to undergo at least another 8 months of treatments before we can even consider classing ourselves as totally cancer free! so our road to recovery is more of a marathon than a sprint & at the moment we are focusing on recovering from the op & getting stronger to take on chemo in the new year! there is so much hope and we are willing to fight and beat this! thank u to the steady flow of visitors and calls to check up on Mum, thank u for the cards & other help from all of our whanau near & far! thank u all for your prayers & messages of encouragement! we appreciate u all! Mum is in high spirits and we are taking each day as it comes! 😊
