its been maybe 2, 2.5 months now off of antidepressants (after 15 yrs + use). the physical process itself wasnt much fun. now in front of me is the rest of my life, sans psycho-tropic assistance. overall, many days are just fine. some days -like today - the corruption-tinged stench of anxiety and irrational fears plagues my mind, not unlike it did back in 1995 or 1998 or whatever. on these days, ive been striving to cling to gods word, especially psalms 3 & 4, and isaiah 43:1 and 2. sometimes i wonder if we face trials simply so god can move us closer to the place where the only thing we really can rely on is him and his promises. even though the fears kicked up by this sometimes resurgent anxiety are largely completley irrational, they nonetheless feel very very real. let your will be done lord.
