its here. Its REALLY here! Opening Day has arrived. The sun is actually shining, the temperatures are going to be in the upper 60s. Mondays dont get any better than this. Fred will not be attending Opening Day, as it has become St. Pattys Day II for a large group of attendees. And, The Saga of Freds Diet continues, so, hell keep tabs on tv, drinking water with lemon. (Okay, every sunny day has an occasional cloud). A quick stop at 7-11 produced an Opening Day moment, however. The clerk, knowing of Freds slight interest in baseball, said, You an Os or Nats fan? Fred: Both. And, yes, its possible to be both. C: Im a Nats fan. Whos playing first for them this year? ::Pause as Fred decides how much time hes got to spare:: F: Whos on first. C: Yeah. Is it LaRoche again? F: No, Whos on first. C: What? F: Whats on second. C: What happened to Ian Desmond? I liked Desmond. ::Tilted clerk head:: F: Okay, youre about, what? 20? Nevermind. LaRoche is playing first base again and Desmond is at second. Should be a great season. ::Blank Stare:: Fred is a man born too late, it seems. HAPPY OPENING DAY MONDAY everybody!
